Best Homemade Waffles
No waffle mix needed! When you have hungry kids that want to eat, this easy recipe from scratch will not disappoint. It's quick and doesn't require any fancy ingredients. And it you want to make it more fancy, it's easy to add to. Best of all, it hardly costs a thing to make it from scratch.

1 waffle iron
1 mixing bowl
1 whisk
- 2 Eggs
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 3/4 cups Milk (any kind)
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 tbsp White Granulated Sugar
- 4 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
OPTIONAL
- 1 cup Chocolate Chips or other favorites Optional
- 1 cup Fruit Optional
- 1 can Cool Whip Optional
- 1 jar Cookie Butter Optional
Add all Required ingredients into a mid-side mixing bowl
Use a whisk (or a spoon, but the whisk is a little less work) to stir the ingredients together. No need to get it completely smooth, but just mixed together -- few lumps is ok
Optional (at this point you may add Chocolate Chips or other ingredients that can be cooked to the batter)
Set the bowl aside to let it rest
Pre-heat the waffle iron to medium high
Once the waffle iron is ready, use a measuring cup (usually a 'cup' works) to scoop out the batter into the waffle iron (depending on the size of your waffle iron, it will usually be about 1/2 cup of batter)
Close the waffle iron and cook according to the waffle iron's instructions
After you have cooked the waffles, feel free to add any of the Optional ingredients to the top of your waffles and serve hot
